RUNWAY: Balmain SS18

Olivier Rousteing's latest collection for Balmain looked to an era long gone for inspiration. He looked at start of modern French fashion for this SS18 collection and though there were nods to greats like Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent, the collection was undoubtedly Balmain with a myriad amount of embellishment and intricate detailing. The majority of the clothing was also in black and white, harkening, again, the mid-20th century when the public learned of the latest styles in newspapers and other black and white media.. There was something here for every Balmain fan - or army as they like to call themselves - to want, though likely cannot afford since the prices of these extravagant pieces are astronomical.
