RUNWAY: Ann Demeulemeester SS18
The heat has finally abated in Paris but the remnants of the heatwave still linger, especially at
Ann Demeulemeester. The Belgian-based label, now without its founder for many years, opted to show sheer layers and delicate clothes resembling crochet. The inspiration, late artist Robert Mapplethorpe, was realized with plenty of dandy details and raw sexuality, seen on puffy floral accents, in the sheer and shirtless-layers. In the end, the collection was quite lovely in its dark and brooding sexiness. The label has finally found its stride without Ms. Demeulemeester.
