RUNWAY: Nicopanda FW17

There is a stark difference between Nicolas Formichetti, who founded Nicopanda after the nickname his fans have given themselves, and Brandon Maxwell. The common thread between them is Lady Gaga, of course, who was styled by the former before taking up positions at Mugler then Diesel, and the latter, who is the pop star's current stylist and designer. Nicopanda is not necessarily "fashion", the clothes are cutesy, with pop art references, though having little to no modus operandi. Though Maxwell does not design menswear, if one takes a look at his FW17 collection, the wide expanse between the two, in terms of design, vision and creativity, is even more apparent. Formichetti has carved out a niche for himself and seems content to stay there, no matter how banal.
