RUNWAY: Gucci FW17
Gucci's
Alessandro Michele eschewed a separate men's runway show for the Florentine label, choosing instead to show both sexes in one massive outing in Milan. The result was a cacophony of embroidery, leather and textures that came together surprisingly well. Even the most subversive of the pieces, like glittering overalls, cut into a horseshoe shape in the front to reveal a model's entire torso and cutting off just before his private parts, felt in tune with the Asian-inspired pieces, as well as the opulent fabrics and detailing. Michele's collection for Gucci are about as kooky and off beat as he is, if not more, and it obviously reverberates with the buying public.
