RUNWAY: Ricardo Seco FW16

A political air ran through Ricardo Seco's second collection shown at NYFWM. As the only Mexican designer to showcase a collection during the four-day event, he took it as an opportunity to highlight the country's culture and vibrancy, as well as to break free from the negative stereotypes that some, like Donald Trump whose caricature is shown on a shirt, have depicted. Here, there were colorful fur trims, on a jacket or as fringe on an oversized cape while color pervaded throughout, seen best on knit accessories and sweaters.
