RUNWAY: Dolce&Gabbana FW16
The hottest accessory on the runway at
Dolce&Gabbana's FW16 show was not a croc doctor's bag or a chic hat, instead it was a tablet that many a model sported down the runway, while taking a selfie. As for the collection itself, it was cowboy-meets-Sicily. As one come to expect from the Sicilian duo, this collection was yet another homage to their hometowns and to Italy as a whole. The tailoring was spot on: masculine and sleek, but with a lot of kitschy patches, embroidery and applique that works wonders for the runway and in editorials, though maybe not less effective for corporate boardrooms. Nevertheless, the fun and youthful collection was a nice break from the doldrum.
