RUNWAY: Craig Green FW16
British designer
Craig Green has a fully fleshed out idea of who the Craig Green man is; his fashion forward collections have gone from ethereal to surreal. For FW16, there was a decidedly darker tone to the collection, evidenced from the prominence of black, but also from the tougher fabrications like leather and plasticized fabrics, glistening against the lights of the runway. Who are these men? Are they soldiers like those wearing drab olive clothing? Or could they be nomads or migrants escaping oppression, carrying their possessions in Green's snazzy new bags? Or could be POWs, with their battered wears and clothes strewn together with just bands of fabric? In the end, the interpretation is up to the wearer.
