RUNWAY: Christopher Shannon FW16

Fashion and commentary are Christopher Shannon's one-two punch. The British designer's FW16 collection was strong both in it's fashion but also in its message. There were, of course, great shirts, mostly in patches, as well as athletic wear that subtly hinted at athleisure and the confluence of sweatpants with high fashion. In the end, Christopher Shannon's presentation was powerful not just for the chic takes on track suits and patchwork button downs but also its commentary on the statement of fashion: the seemingly neverending need for product and new ways to segment the market even more (100% pure!). Great clothes and a penny for your thoughts are hard to come by in fashion nowadays but Christopher Shannon is one who gives both.
