RUNWAY: Gucci SS16

Now that Alessandro Michele has had more than 5 days to whip together a collection for Gucci, what was the result? Surpisingly, his second collection for Gucci was much of the same as his first: romantic, androgynous and full of softness. There were floral embroidered suits, short shorts with the requisite interlocked-G belt, and a flurry of silky bows. The elusive lace shirt for men also made a cameo at Gucci and, you know what they say, three times means it's a trend so, men should be ready to almost bare it all next season with lacey shirts. There is still a sense of sexiness in the collection but it feels much more nascent, rather than outre like during the Giannini's tenure or that of Tom Ford's.
