RUNWAY: Ermenegildo Zegna SS16
Stefano Pilati's latest collection for
Ermenegildo Zegna had a litany of rounded shoulders, ultra lightweight fabrics, and a relaxed take on tailoring. The light and ethereal way the clothes draped the wiry bodies of the models highlighted the fabrics innovations that Zegna made this season. A great deal of research, effort and money goes in Zegna's unique and advanced fabrics every season and Pilati melds that with his exceptional tailoring skills. Here, there were widely cut trousers so light, they were nearly see-through and seemed to just float in the air. Meanwhile, vintage-inspired bombers in pale and faded madras looked modern against the louche layers.
