RUNWAY: Louis Vuitton FW15
Louis Vuitton's men's style director,
Kim Jones, paid homage to British designer and artist
Christopher Nemeth at today's FW15 show. Nemeth's signature rope motif was seen throughout the collection from the invitation to coats and pants. The pattern was surprisingly not cumbersome to wear, waifish models looked chic in their jumpers with a circular rope pattern while the same motif filled a toggle coat and gave it depth. Trousers were slim and fitted with some rolled up cuffs, neat and elegant rather than haphazard like one might see during the summer. There were also a plethora of small crossbody bags sure to whet the appetites of the label's monogram fans. In all, Vuitton, which has previously taken us to Tokyo and India, looked only across the English Channel for its latest inspiration, rooted in construction and an unmistakable pattern.
