RUNWAY: Louis Vuitton FW14
From the Wild West to the sea. That's where
Louis Vuitton's menswear style director,
Kim Jones, took us for FW14. Gone were the denim and cowboy references of SS14 and in were luxurious coats in calm azure hues. It was a decidedly sportier, more relaxed collection, evidenced by a roomier fit, with shoulders in the suiting a bit more rounded. Maybe certain designers, including Kim, are feeling bit more in love lately because this collection also feels more romantic, maybe it's the draped blankets, slung over one shoulder. It's a welcome change to the regimented tailoring that's been so prevalent in menswear of late. This LV collection had all the hallmarks of any Vuitton collection: luxurious fabrics from cashmere to vicuna, to ultra luxe (and this season :waterproof) bags. Perfect for a relaxing cruise to the Caribbean to escape the cold.
