RUNWAY: Juun J FW14
Juun J's play on proportions has been a revelation during Paris Fashion Week the past two seasons and for FW14, he continued to pursue the limits. Ultra-wide shoulders were juxtaposed with sleeker silhouettes while the former evoked an extreme reinterpretation of strong shoulders and shoulder pads that dominated 80s fashion. The latter exemplified the South Korean designer's tailoring skills. An all-leather suit seen on Jester White was exquisite while subtle colors like navy and olive green were a respite from the heavy use of black. The finale's procession of graphic coats is becoming a staple for Juun J and featured roomy rain jackets with graphics created by Josh Luke, a Massachusetts-based graphic designer.
