RUNWAY: Fingers Crossed SS14
Ryu Hayama's debut at New York Fashion Week under the label Fingers Crossed came on the very last day of NYFW in a small art gallery space in lower Manhattan. A mostly-monochromatic color palette highlighted the collection's slouchy but sporty aesthetic, with plenty of accessories from floppy hats to backpacks. The addition of floral prints at the end was in line with one of the biggest trends in menswear for SS14. The floral prints were mostly atop black fabric, creating a darker and more masculine look, especially against all the white in the collection. In all, a promising start for a label whose name is quite cheeky.(The photos below are an HommeMode exclusive)
