RUNWAY: Neil Barrett SS14
The aesthetics and general design idea from
Neil Barrett's Fall/Winter 2013 collection transitioned to Spring/Summer 2014 and for that, we're grateful. The FW13 show was utterly spectacular and though the Spring/Summer 2014 show didn't translate as well, we enjoyed the textures Barrett decided to show, like a horizontally quilted short with a minimal jacket, all in black, naturally. Barrett honed in on classic menswear fabrics as well, like checks and Prince of Wales but used them as accents to the mostly black collection. A series of light creams and greys were a welcome respite. The styling, per usual, was essential to completing the look and was once again top notch and appropriate.
