RUNWAY: Saint Laurent FW13
Hedi Slimane revolutionized how men dressed while at
Dior Homme. Now he's back as the emperor of Yves Saint Laurent and has renamed the
prêt-à-porter as
Saint Laurent Paris. For the debut of the men's runway show, Slimane re-introduced the skinny proportions and Rock n' Roll themes that helped elevate Dior Homme as the show to attend during PFW. Super skinny models wearing equally skinny pants lined the runway in beautifully cropped and tailored jackets, like a gilded jacket with bolero attachment. The main focus of this collection were the outerwear pieces that was exceptional and ranged from toggle coats in camel to luxurious leather motorcycle jackets to a very chic and skinny varsity jacket. Animal prints are also something we've seen a lot from Slimane and that continues with transparent animal print accessories like a silky scarf or red fur coat with black cheetah spots. After all the drama following Saint Laurent's debut during women's PFW last September that left many with a sour taste in their mouths, Slimane, at least in our eyes, has redeemed himself by showing he's still got it.
