RUNWAY: Givenchy Pre-Fall 2013
Riccardo Tisci's Pre-Fall 2013 menswear collection for Pre-Fall 2013 is rife with odes to the past, from the history of the house to Tisci's history at Givenchy. Tailored shirts with the acronym
HDG (for House de Givenchy but could also double as Hubert de Givenchy) appear, as well as Tisci's signature animal prints, this time: the doberman. Scotland seems to be a common reference point for Pre-Fall 2013, with Tisci showing plenty of tartans and plaids, many which shown with trompe l’œil prints. The highlight of the collection, however, were the tailored pieces that combined Tisci's Italian tailoring skills with the romanticism that's so prevalent in everything Tisci and
Hubert de Givenchy showed for the famed couture house. Also a standout was a black and brown parka that's the furthest thing from a fashion faux pas. The lookbook featured
Ricardo Figueirdo and
Jared Buckhiester.
