RUNWAY: Pierre Balmain SS13

Famed French fashion house Balmain recently launched a lower priced diffusion line named after the man who opened the house: Pierre Balmain. The licensed line, overseen by Balmain's creative director Olivier Rousteing, showed their pared back, youthful collection in New York this week. The offerings were quite mundane, to be blunt, but they did bring the Balmain aesthetic, mainly military inspiration with plenty of austere accents, from the buttons to other details.
