RUNWAY: Raf Simons FW12

Belgian designer Raf Simons made a statement today and that statement was: no pants. In all 30 looks he presented at his Fall/Winter 2012 show yesterday in Paris, Simons sent models down the runway donning tailored shorts. While the tops were almost shaped and masculine, with proportions slightly elongated, maybe to help shelter one's self from the elements. The collection had a slight youth revolutionary mood to it with knit caps in warm and inviting shades alongside fuzzy sweaters and outerwear. Our favorite look was a hatched pattern suit in a warm reddish-grey tone and slouchy shorts, it encapsulated the entire collection: sophisticated but youthful with interesting details like an oversized shirt over an oxford and tie.
