RUNWAY: Dries Van Noten FW12
After Spring/Summer 2012's black and blue collection, the famed Belgian designer decided to light it up a bit for Fall/Winter 2012 with a collection partly inspired by two artists: literary legend
Oscar Wilde and singer
Frank Zappa. We can blatantly see Oscar Wilde's influence with words and phrases printed on the clothing, as well as the giant wall that was erected opposite the audience. There was also a notion from the 70s, with wild, tie-dye-esque prints seen on pants, shirts, suits and outerwear. Relative to Dries' previous collections, this one fell a bit flat; though the more commercial pieces like military overcoats and luscious shoes are sure to be favorites.
