RUNWAY: Bottega Veneta FW12
Bottega Veneta's Creative Director
Tomas Maier took the Milanese company to a new level of color blocking for Fall/Winter 2012. Never one to be austere, Maier's collection was still subdued with muted colors melding into another to create a sophisticated and coherent collection. Like most FW12 collections, the outerwear was a key focus. We were glad not to see some of the oversized and bulky outerwear we saw yesterday in Milan. Instead, Bottega Veneta showcased well executed and tailored pieces in shades of blue and black, with some having shoulder tip details, hinting at maybe a Western feel. Either way, it was one of the best collections we've seen thus far in Milan.
