RUNWAY: Ann Demeulemeester FW12

Famed Belgian designer Ann Demeulemeester created an unsurprisingly chic and dark collection, with beautifully draped knits, some with haunting ombre finishes and others in a thatched pattern. The highlight of the show, however, came when a series of electric blue pieces came onto the runway and jolted the monochromatic collection to life, just like a defibrillator. There were also a few looks that sported a blood-red color that added a bit of malaise to the already dark collection but any hint of color is quite welcome in a Fall/Winter collection.
