RUNWAY: British Colony SS12

We're a bit biased towards British Colony, it has, in the past, been one of our favorite shows that come out of Fashion Rio. For its Spring/Summer 2012 collection, it did not disappoint, per se, but when expectations are high, it is sometimes hard to reach. The collection was good, the sheer layers seen throughout but exasperated towards the end created a fluidity that was ethereal and looked fresh. We think our issue with the collection was the lack of continuity between each look. Taking a look at each look as separates, it would have been fine but since we look at the collection as whole, there must be a flow and a story interwoven between each look and it wasn't optimal for SS12. Again, the clothes were quite fetching but it lacked that, as the French say, je ne sais quoi.
