RUNWAY: Yohji Yamamoto FW11
Yohji Yamamoto had multiple inspirations for the eponymous line he showed today in Paris: from birds in flight to sharp splashes of red, illuminating the rather blandly colored collection. The silhouette, according to Mr. Yamamoto, is to be a bit oversized and boxy, seen in his outerwear and the trousers he sent down the runway. The looks had an almost peasant look to them, that made them charming and almost romantic and though the casting was different than most runways, it worked succinctly with the collection and together they created a lovely collection.
