RUNWAY: Dries Van Noten FW11

Dries Van Noten's runway shows are always a scene stealer and his latest one in Paris today was no different. His tailoring and use of color are always paramount to his collection's novelty. His take on military jackets, in navy and camel, were breathtaking and luxurious, especially taken into consideration that most of the outerwear had removable fur collars. Those that didn't have fur collars had dual paneled lapels with contrasting colors, making them pop without being too loud. The silhouette of his pants ranged from slim cigarette pants to flow-y trousers that seemed to float away from the body. Exceptionally lovely was a camel cashmere trenchcoat with a white double lapel, large armholes and sleeves that were longer than usually seen. Overall, the Belgian designer, who does no advertising at all, can add this collection to his long list of winning collections.
