RUNWAY: Vivienne Westwood FW11
For a
Vivienne Westwood show, this particular collection by the English design maven was rather subdued. Sure, there were the quirky style elements of red lipstick on the models with powdered faces and mismatching prints but it all came together, as all Westwood shows do, into a beautiful and elegant collection. The proportion on the pants were much looser than those we've seen in other runways in Milan, like in Burberry Prorsum, but they only highlighted the reference to the 1920s and Charlie Chaplin, if he were a British vampire. The thick and comfortable jersey knits were paired with a demure plaid sport coat and vest highlighted Vivienne Westwood's love. Overall, the collection was concise, fun, and beautiful. Another winning collection from the Ms. Westwood.
