RUNWAY: Kris Van Assche FW11

Belgian designer Kris Van Assche seems to be able to create wondrous clothes that are luxe and interesting and all black. Roughly 80% of this collection is presented in all black with a white shirt here and there. Yet if you click on each picture to see the details of the clothes, they're interesting and have a softness to them, contrasting with a designer like Rick Owens who also heavily favors black but whose clothes have a darker and harder aura to them. The finale of his show highlighted buttery shades of camel that draped the body, rather than hug it.

Van Assche also debuted the luggage and bag collection he created with Eastpak. The oversized bags will be available next season and will range from $65 to $250.
