RUNWAY: Burberry Prorsum FW11

After the two seasons of oversized and larger-than-life proportions, Christopher Bailey tones down the proportions of Burberry Prorsum by concentrating on his signature slim fit and doing extensive fabric research. The end result is a collection full of color and fabrics not normally seen in a Fall/Winter collection and especially not at the usually conservative Burberry runway. As the collection continues, the bright acid colors give way to more neutral colors while still keeping the fabrics new and innovative.

The finale was a high point when all the models came traipsing down the runway in transparent Burberry rain coats with actual water raining down on the runway, much to the dismay of many in the front row. But the effect was beautiful and effect for the brand, whose headquarters are located in London, where climate can vary drastically within minutes.
