RUNWAY: Tim Coppens FW12

For Tim Coppens' third collection, the former Ralph Lauren employee was inspired by the Ryan Gosling-led thriller Drive. The references could be seen in the supple leather outerwear and leather accents, as well as a hard and soft edge that Gosling exuded throughout the film. The highlight of the collection, however, was a color blocked varsity coat worn by Christian Plauche. Coppens' ability to create an ergonomic, egalitarian and wearable collection that was equal parts futuristic, technical and chic is his strongest attribute. Though his collection is still quite new, the buzz regarding this rising menswear star is near deafening and we continue to look forward seeing what he has in store for us.
