RUNWAY: Marlon Gobel FW11
Marlon Gobel's Fall/Winter 2011 collection was titled "
Secrets" and set against stained glass windows. The results were a wild mix of textures, color, and fabrics. Tartans, velvet, and fur were seen, as well as tons of emerald, red, and copper tones. In all, the clothes played off of the colors, sights and feel of the stained glass windows behind the models. As for the clothes themselves, the collection seemed to be influenced by the 1950s man's silhouette, never being too fitted or too loose. There were some winning pieces but as a whole the collection fell flat and almost garish with the heavy use of velvet and metallic fabrics that didn't look nearly as luxe as the price tag would lead you to believe.
