RUNWAY: Hermès FW11

Hermès truly is the epitome of luxury, from their supple leathers, seen as leather pants that were relaxed rather than tight to the multitude of leather jackets, coats, and accessories, Veronique Nichanian executed the Fall/Winter 2011 with a restrained hand. In prior runways, Hermès concentrated on the clothes and did not showcase their highly coveted bags and luggage on the runway but today it was different, with models toting around Weekender bags, duffles and the fabulous Haut à Courroies (HAC), the Birkin's predecessor.

Veronique is a master at classic style, similar to Ralph Lauren, but without the showiness of some of Mr. Lauren's All-American style. Hermès' clothes are timeless and country-less. The proportions were just right without being too trendy (aka pants that were cropped or too tapered) and showed suits (both single and double breasted) that were soft, refined, and chic. Another wonderful Hermès show. Surely, this has M. Arnault salivating for control of the house (allegedly).
