Utility and pops of color melded together to create an eye catching Fall/Winter 2018 collection for Trussardi, one that touches upon the label's heritage of leather goods and builds on it without being bogged down by it. There was an oversized coat in cobalt, matching plaid outfits, and a smattering of landscape-printed pieces that, while visually stunning, seemed out of place. The outdoorsy-vibe of the collection did not need them to help convey its ethos.

Leather and athleisure combined to create an exceptional Trussardi collection that melded the label's leather expertise with the trend-du-jour. Joggers, sweats, and deconstructed tailoring proliferated the youthful and sports-minded collection.

Comfortable layers, like oversized cardigans over a simple white tee, juxtaposed with the supple leathers that Trussardi proffered for its Fall/Winter 2015 collection. There were also a gaggle of bags, large, sporty and mostly with top-handles, to round out each look.

Trussardi's 20s inspired collection had a strong jazz vibe, as if the gramophones weren't an indicator. While there was a flurry of striped suits, the defining trend so far, there was plenty of leather available. Why not since leather is Trussardi's claim to fame. Offerings included signature Trussardi-brown jackets, rucksacks, and more.

Since the departure of two of its creative directors in the past 5 years, Trussardi recruited from within its family. For FW14, Gaia Trussardi envisioned a Clark Kent-sort of fellow, dress in sharp suits but has a superhero aura about, something special or unique, hidden beneath a plaid overcoat or weaved leather jacket.
