This may be Tomas Maier's last collection for his eponymous label for some time. You see, he has left Bottega Veneta, his home for over a decade, and Kering, the owner of Bottega Veneta and a backer of Maier's eponymous label, has pulled its investment from the latter. So, this beachy collection, full of trendy pieces from tracksuits to graphic accessories and prints, might be the last pieces one can own from Maier until he finds new investors. His retail stores are also closing so it might also be a good time to hit up their inventory sales.

Tomas Maier's eponymous collection, which is sold in his stores in Bal Harbor and the Hamptons, has a decidedly laid back, beach-y vibe to them. There were crinkled fabrics, easy layers and some boldly patterned garments in animal skin, also seen on loafers.

Tomas Maier, the purveyor of luxurious utilitarian fashion at Bottega Veneta, is all about sportswear, evidenced not just by his work at the Kering-owned label but also his eponymous label. For FW15, Maier taps veteran model Reid Prebenda to model a highly edited selection of fifteen looks that showcase the casual-meets-fashion aesthetic that Maier is synonymous for; highlights include a smoking jacket paired with comfy joggers and hightops or a tweed jacket with athletic jeans, cinched at the cuff.

RUNWAY: Tomas Maier FW15

Tomas Maier, of Bottega Veneta-fame, offers a laid back approach to dressing for SS15. Maier operates a shop in Miami and East Hampton, so it's with not much surprise that the collection is very beach-ready: light layers, a bit of transparency, and plenty of sex appeal. Light jackets were outfitted with swim shorts and a light knit while a pair of cuffed sweatpants looked familiar to a pair Maier designed for Bottega Veneta and are equally as desirable. This design, known for his utilitarian aesthetic, brought a cool, laid back aura to the collection, something we don't see often when Maier designs for the Kering-owned label.
