Lush fabrics and classic tailoring are what Richard James brings to the table for FW16. His is the label where classicism is supreme while sportswear is only a second thought although what he did offer in that realm was quite good as well, like a cardigan-bomber hybrid.

Richard James' latest collection was exuberant in its color palette and aimed to prove that summer suiting could be fun, colorful but also still have hallmarks of classicism. This was seen in the litany of brightly colored suits, in a digital four-leaf clover pattern, as well as a host of sharp sportswear, like streamlined bomber with the quintessential white trouser for summer.

Texture was the story at Richard James' FW15 runway show today, from lush velvets to fur and fringe with a finale that offered what James does best: tailored evening-wear.

Richard James' tailoring expertise was front and center at his SS15 collection but the collection took a decidedly sporty turn for the upcoming season. The travel bug must have hit James while preparing for this collection because hints of Africa and East Asia were splattered throughout the collection, from safari hats and desert boots to lotus flowers appliquéd onto jackets. From last season's very prim and proper collection to this relaxed and easy collection, it shows that James is not a one trick pony.

Famed clothier Richard James showcased a youthful FW14 collection that took classic fabrics like Prince of Wales and windowpane and created slender suits, modernizing them for the young and well off. Also included in the collection was a cropped cobalt motorcycle jacket, a surprising addition, but expertly executed under James' trained tailoring eye. Other detailing such as a yellow collar on a jacket helped energize the collection that could sometimes trend towards monotonous during LCM after a seemingly endless flurry of suits.
