Officine Generale's latest collection was so calm and cool that a cloud-motif shirt was the perfect embodiment of this chicly tailored and egalitarian collection. The label's pajama outfit was also a standout at its low key chicness and the styling surely helped it from looking too frumpy or like a lazy university student's pajama. Elsewhere, the tonal whites and creams looked crisp and clean without being fussy while more formal outfits included a full suit, tie and trench but also tailored separates with a hoodie underneath to help balance the formal with the not so formal.

Officine Generale's laid back and casual tailoring is always a winner. While other labels get more name recognition for their charmingly Parisian clothes, Officine Generale's Parisian-ness is quiet and authentic, rather than what tourists or non residents think Parisian style is. For FW19, there were military influences in the color palette while the silhouettes were sharp even though there was some play on the cut of the trousers. They weren't oversized or baggy, but relaxed, and looked very appropriate for a laid back weekend look. Where this collection excelled was the combination of lush fabrics such as a corduroy pant with a suede aviator jacket.

Officine Generale's penchant for clean lines and tailored clothing is still present for its SS19 collection but there was an undoubtedly sportier element. Though there were no tracksuits, there were military-inspired jumpsuits or, using a buzzword from last summer, rompers. Nevertheless, the collection's lines were still clean, as were the finishes and styling. Much like the very expensive Hermes, Officine Generale's no fuss collections offers elegant clothing and, related to the former, at much more affordable prices.

There is a level of casual elegance at Officine Generale's collections one comes to expect. The label is known for their beautiful laid back tailoring and, once again, delivered. There was a richness in the fabrics used that evoked a grandiose vibe without being loud, take a gray suit in heavy wool, speckled with white yarn, that looked so cool and effortless while military influences were elevated with a "cool, calm and collected" attitude, like a dropped crotch for ease. Not that Veronique Nichanian has any intention of leaving Hermes but if she were, Pierre Maheo, the designer at Officine Generale, has consistently been making a good case for why he should succeed her.
