After much secrecy, Yves Saint Laurent's Creative Director Hedi Slimane releases images featuring his first menswear collection. Initially, the collection was shown in a small presentation to buyers only in Paris' Grand Palais during mens fashion week in late June 2012. Fast forward three months and Slimane showcased his first runway collection, for Saint Laurent's womens line, to much controversy.

However, for his menswear debut, Slimane mirrored the references of the 1970s seen on his SS13 ready-to-wear collection a few days ago. Morris Pendlebury, Andrew Jones and Dan Rumpf become the faces of the collection's lookbook, donning sharp tailoring in Slimane's signature skinny-rocker aesthetic, with ample hints of 70s musical references like David Bowie.
