The intricate and elegant knitwork from Missoni is juxtaposed with ruggedness for SS19, specifically dirt bikes. Does madras go with dirt biking? Not quite but that won't stop these statuesque models from donning sheer layers over their Missoni knits to go for a ride while jolts of colors like a lemon leather pant jazzed up for the subtle pattern play.

Missoni eschewed a runway show and opted instead for an easy presentation against a beautifully lush garden that mirrored the lush knits and color on display.

Angela Missoni showed a marvelously lush and beautiful collection for Missoni today. The subtlety of the colors, bleeding into another one, patterns mixing oh-so-harmoniously are hallmarks of the Missoni look. Without being reductive and repetitive, Missoni continues to push the boundary of what one can achieve with top-notch knitting and color combinations. Suits in subtle plaids looked chic with a simple and versatile trench, chunky knits of varying colors looked chic and simple when it could've easily looked garish and trying too hard. The balancing act Missoni proffers every season is commendable and schools so many who just can't seem get it right.

Missoni's earth-toned Spring/Summer 2017 collection was so captivating in its nonchalance take on utilitarian design with a few inflections of the American southwest and cowboys thrown in for good measure.

Fringe, metallic details and more were found at Missoni's Autumnal-themed FW16 collection. The signature knits were ever present but the story here were accessories that complemented Missoni's snazzy knits. These wayward travelers splashed on the layers as they traversed down the runway, sometimes making sweet melodic sounds as the metallic coins dangling from their clothes hit and banged into one another.

Angela Missoni's latest collection for her family's label was a romantic take on the beauty seen throughout India. The classic Missoni patterns were reimagined in hues seen in Indian spices, like turmeric and saffron. A flush of patchwork also ran through the collection, giving it a boho-chic vibe that complemented the laid back tailoring and easy sportswear Missoni offered.

Missoni's latest menswear collection took us on a romp through a jazz lounge, or possibly an opium den, where bohemians in louche layers wore oversized scarves, loose boucle coats, and an absolute litany of chic, Missoni knits and slim trousers in a wide array of patterns like pinstripe and herringbone. The only thing missing was the waft of the Morocco's best opiates.

Missoni's beach-y Spring/Summer 2015 collection, complete with bare chested models, had plenty of knits to keep yourself warm during cool summer nights or even a chic Missoni towel to dry yourself off with after a swim. Missoni's collections are a triumph in reworking a tried and true aesthetic, one that the family presented to the world decades ago and still is relevant and, most of all, sellable.

It's been a year since the Missoni family lost two members of their family after a tragic plane crash off the coast of Venezuela. So it's not surprise that the FW14 collection had water on its mind. Though the theme was undoubtedly cheery. Clothes were relaxed and had a SoCal surfer vibe to them. The knits were positively drool worthy as Missoni continues to push the family's claim to fame to a new level. The zig-zag patterned knits that made Missoni famous around the world are eclipsed by sumptuous weaves, full of color and warmth, looking almost like tweed. Shearling was also featured, like on a coat's collar, but the story here are the knits. If Burberry Prorsum's large, painterly blankets from their FW14 show earlier this week were an indication, then Missoni's knitted versions only affirm that the accessory to own next season is a luxe blanket.

It's been nearly six months since Missoni's Vittorio and his wife disappeared off the coast of Venezuela after a pre-fashion week holiday. But the house he helped build must continue. For SS14, Angela Missoni softened the knits to make them less chunky and more streamlined and slim. Her family's claim to fame are their famous stripes and prints and for SS14, Missoni looked to Africa to help inspire the directionality, color and style of the prints, all done and executed with great aplomb.
