Margarett Howell looked early 20th century blue collar dressing for inspiration for her FW19 collection and polished it to a shine. Aside from the loosely cut silhouettes and the modest-looking layers, there were oodles of expensive and luxe fabrics used, with finishes that elevated the humble inspiration.

Margaret Howell's signature pared back elegant designs were accentuated by an ode to a decade gone by and the uniforms worn by the men (and women) of that era. There were oversized proportions that looked polished and simple while boxy silhouettes on bowling shirts offered casual and cool elegance.

Boxy jackets and widely cut pants was the uniform that Margaret Howell had her chicly dressed men wear. Pants were cut just above the ankle, showing a bit of skin, or in this case matching socks. Soft scarves seductively hung from the models necks while knits were loose and comfortable, perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Boxy silhouettes ruled supreme at Margaret Howell's austere and elegant Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Pristine layers of white clothes were clean and crisp while a few schoolboy inspired looks were chic and seasonless, just like nearly everything Howell creates.

Hardly anyone in London does understated luxury better than Margaret Howell and she continues to prove that quiet clothes, without being garish, can be as electrifying and covetable, if not more. Highlights from the collection include wide lapeled coats in russet, roomy and boxy, and knits so fine one would never want to take them off.

Margaret Howell's easy silhouettes and expert tailoring make her collections stalwart of modern British menswear. Though the collections may never break new ground, her business model works because she has found the perfect balance between high end fashion and clothes regular men would and want to wear. For SS15, she provides just that with an easy and desirable collection of muted tones and relaxed tailoring.

A somber collection was what Margaret Howell offered today on the penultimate day of London Collections: Men. Easy suiting and cool knits were plentiful while the outerwear was chic and minimal, much like the rest of her collection.
