Heron Preston showcases his Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Paris with an ode to streetwear and the concrete jungle he calls him. Here, there are street style-friendly outfits like the colorful printed tops and bottoms, logo'd shirts and some really stunning color-blocked jackets. A concrete jungle might be the inspiration but the execution and sharp editing of this collection was quite sophisticated.

When one thinks of inspiration, it might be from art - a Cezanne or Rembrandt - or a youthquake. One does not necessarily think of the TSA, the US government agency in charge of keeping the skies over the United State safe. However, that's exactly what Heron Preston proffered this season and the result was a mash of loose-fitting clothes with Preston's signature too-cool-for-school aesthetic with some sharp outerwear like a zipped topcoat or technical anorak.

Utility is the buzzword at Heron Preston. There continues to be a strong thread of utilitarianism in these inspired-by-real-people garments which are elevated with striking prints, like the almost-camo print seen on a pair of pants or shorts. It's actually satellite imagery so in one respect, it is camo-like but in another, it's a real and tangible rather than a pattern made in a factory or digitally. Therein lies the crux of fashion, creating something we already know and elevating it in new and interesting ways with details not readily available.
