Upending of social norms is the name of the game at Gypsy Sport. For FW18, this meant a focus on gender fluidity from a transgender activist walking the runway to a ten-year old who moonlights as a "drag kid" (his words). As for the clothes, they were riffs on sartorial codes but ripped apart and put back together with tongue-in-cheek details, like doily sleeves, to overtly sexual overtones, like a fox gimp mask.

Eschewing New York for the city of light, Gypsy Sport showed its latest collection in the famed Place de la Republique in Paris and the result could succinctly summarized by a word on a tee: coexist. The models who walked were typical Parisians: carrying baguettes home for dinner, getting ready to go out on a Friday night and so on but their clothes spoke volumes, from a Colin Kaepernick football jersey to mesh tops, this collection felt like it about justice and freedom, respectively. It was a great collection, full stop.

Nonconformist, nonbinary and free-spirited label Gypsy Sport offered its own take on the 70s hippy, mixing tye-dye patterns with the label's own take on tailoring, alongside ostentatious garments.

Gypsy Sport tones down their eccentric designs and styling. Instead they offered a fanciful and youthful take on dressing, seen below in the label's SS17 collection, which was shown during New York Fashion Week.
