Daks celebrates 125 years since its founding and the resulting collection included commemorative tees stating as much while the rest of the collection went retro with a 70s theme that was pervasive throughout. For the most part, it worked, with its wide pants, taut tops and a plethora of chunky and/or oversized jewelry and accessories.

Daks' heritage has been its tailoring prowess and that was on full display at its FW18 show. Accenting the sartorial base of the collection was a light and fun approach to layering, either it be a full checkered look or a cape for dramatic effect.

Models smiled as they strode down the runway at Daks' SS18 show outfitted in turn of the 20th century-inspired clothing. The theme was taken almost too literally with high waisted pants, straw hats, and roomy suits, all which seemed a bit too costume-y, as if these were costumes for a re-make of the Oscar-nominated movie Seabiscuit.

Barring those very questionable chest-height pants, Daks' FW17 collection was a tour-de-force of tailoring, mixing dapper with elegant and adding a touch of Old World Glam to create a well thought out and expertly executed collection of suits and separate that any (and every) man should want to own.

A Northern African aesthetic pervaded Daks' SS17 collection, which was full of elongated proportions and easy, light layers, complemented by bold, chunky accessories, like one might see in Marrakech, all that was missing was a Fez hat.

A desert theme collided with Daks' tailored looked to create a dusty but chic collection for Spring/Summer 2017, complete with sweat-drenched models. It combined natural hues with a more relaxed, even looser, fit to convey a Northern African vibe, with embellished jewelry.

Daks' flamboyant FW16 collection was all about dressing to the nines with glistening accessories from silken bowties to gem-encrusted broaches, all worn with tuxedoes and elegant tailoring.

Streamlined silhouettes and smart tailoring are central to Daks' Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Bucking the trend of wide and fluid layers, Daks exemplified pared back tailoring, utilizing patterns to add a dash or two of pizzazz in the otherwise stark and austere collection, take the graphic knits or high waisted trousers or the color blocked sweaters.

Daks' Fall/Winter 2015 offerings melded biker attitude with punk references to create a tailored-cum-edgy collection that strayed far from its comfort zone. Though it succeeded in creating some well made suits and jackets; however, the cohesiveness seemed strained.

Daks is celebrating its 120th anniversary so it's not surprising that the collection looked back at its heritage in order to help move the label towards the future. It melded turn of the early 20th century tailoring with 1960s attitude. Military inspired tailoring, with plenty of broad, strong shouldered outerwear, was en mode here while eye liner and a bit of sparkle and lamé added the rocker vibe Filippo Scuffi was aiming for.

Daks' iteration of the English gentleman was a bit sinister, with a penchant for black leather and exaggerated proportions. Rich velvets and classic plaids were front and center for the show that included a multitude of beautiful dramatic outerwear.

A play on the English gentleman was a talking point of Daks' Spring/Summer 2013 collection. Formal top hats were mixed in with sportswear looks which conveyed a more relaxed way of dress. While suiting was well tailored, it offered some traditional looks while other looks were more modern and on trend (read: worn with shorts). A dandy collection for the dandy man who's not afraid to dress up for any occasion.
