Japanese retailer Uniqlo recently announced an investment interest in Lemaire, one that will strengthen Lemaire's business ties with the former. A new infusion of cash will lift the Lemaire label so it can expand and offer these pared back, loungey clothes to more people who aspire for the casual and quiet luxury that Lemaire offers, whether it's an elongated shirt in linen or a cross-eye inducing pattern on a billowy shirt.

Christophe Lemaire, half of the design team at Lemaire, has recently taken up a new position at Japanese retailer Uniqlo to be its artistic collection after two successful capsule collections. That'll debut next month in Paris. Back to the collection at hand, for SS17, the pared back label showcased a sporty but tailored collection that highlighted a lightweight and flowy silhouette with some cool technical fabrics. This was most evident in the plethora of coats and jackets that were shown, one on nearly every model, they were light and utilitarian, while blousons, pants and some elongated tops rounded out the collection.

After a successful collection with Uniqlo, Lemaire returns to the Paris runways with an elegant and pared back collection that combines a minimalist aesthetic with luxury fabrications. The result is sophisticated sportswear for the modern man with touches of athleticism and utility. The label's signature collar-less shirts were seen throughout, in crisp whites or bieges, one even unbuttoned halfway to reveal the chest of a young model.

Since refocusing his efforts on his eponymous label, Christophe Lemaire has emerged with a new and refined take on menswear. Blending utility with elegant and sophisticated tailoring and a sporty attitude, the Spring/Summer 2016 collection was a sight. Raglan sleeved suits offered a bit of athleticism while buttoned up trenches in light fabrics showcased a pared back luxury that helped he refined during his brief time at Hermes. In all, the collection hit the sweet spot of sportswear and luxury.

The collection, like every collection prior, is devoid of outre branding, instead the focus is on timeless clothes for men who don't need or want to showcase their wealth by flashing the it-bag but whose style and clothes are effortlessly chic. Hermès' womenswear creative director Christophe Lemaire knows a little something about understated luxury and that's what he showed today for his eponymous label on the first day of Paris Fashion Week. Slouchy layers and stark tailoring referenced East Asian influences while oversized outerwear helped achieved the easy look he was aiming for.

Christophe Lemaire, Hermes' womenswear director, took his ample knowledge of luxury and injected plenty of it into his eponymous men's collection. The collection played on two key trends for Fall/Winter 2013: sport and proportion. The collection on a much sportier, youthful turn, seemingly influenced by the youth in the streets of Paris, as well as the overwhelming trend of oversized coats, cropped pants and rounded shoulders that has encompassed almost all the European collections thus far.

Asian influence abounded at Christophe Lemaire's SS13 collection. Relaxed tailoring gave way to a bohemian silhouette with a muted color palette. slouchy tops were paired at times with tapered bottoms while other times.
