Father and son designing duo Casely-Hayford opted to showcase their FW18 collection in London rather than their usual New York spot. The result was not all too different from what we've come to expect from the duo. There were elegant coats and intriguing takes on staples like the pullover sweater. The silhouette continued to skew large, with pants wide and some puddling on the floor while coats were oversized and roomy, creating a regal and aloof aura around the taut models while the final look offered an homage to this new city and country they're in.

There was a simplicity to Casely-Hayford's SS18 collection that evoked a sense of calm assurance in the father and son designing duo's work. A strong focus on tailoring turned into an exercise in proportion and fit with top stitching classic patterns offered a small but special touch to the clothes.

The father-son duo behind Casely-Hayford seem to like things slightly askew, as evidenced by their latest collection. Staples like a double breasted coat had odd regularities, such as being unlined or unstructured, leaving the already thin models looking like they're swimming in the clothes. This, of course, is intentional and the result, though not everyone's aesthetic, works. However, the raw fabric jutting out of the patterned suits and pants leaves much to be desired.

The father-son duo behind Casely-Hayford jolts the runway with psychedelic patterns in its opening looks and ends with a statement on militarism via a well constructed outfit highlighting aiguillettes. Between those two looks were plenty of sharply tailored pieces from demure patchwork jackets to a dressed up take on joggers. The modern takes on evening wear was especially strong.

Casely-Halford's Spring/Summer 2016 collection pushed their limits, roaming from their standard to try their hand at something a little different. When designers attempt this, it can be either a disaster or a great win. Here, it was felt more the latter than the former. There were chicly cut tailored coats and suits, as well as some great tribal-print sportswear, while the mix of technical fabrics with more traditional menswear fabrics were new and exciting. As for the color palette, the jewel tones added a strong dimension against the dark and moody, almost jazz-y vibe to the collection

Modern sportswear was the focus of Casely Hayford's FW15 show, which was full of texture, from the soft yarns of a wool coat to the tiers on a leather bomber. Meanwhile, bolder pieces included bulky puffers, ikat knits in bold and interesting colors and a beautiful pink overcoat.

It was inevitable that a label take on normcore, Casely-Hayford was the first to take on the new trend for the SS15 mens fashion season. The result was elongated proportions, boxy outerwear and trompe l'oeil shirts that was in line with the label's signature outre tailoring.
