Canali focused its latest collection on their strongest attribute: tailoring. A vast majority of the collection was comprised of easy tailored looks, perfect for weekends in the Hamptons or Catalina Island or Lake Cuomo, all in light pastels to help evoke that laid back, luxe lifestyle.

Italian label Canali's tailoring skills are on display in their Spring/Summer 2018 lookbook, featuring sharp suits, sportswear that utilizes classic fabrics in new and lightweight ways while footwear was decidedly sportier, with rubber soles and the shape of a sneaker.

Canali eschewed a runway show for an intimate presentation showcasing its FW17 collection of subtle prints and monochromatic looks and featuring slim tailoring and oversized outerwear.

Italian dandies will find plenty to love about Canali's sharply tailored Spring/Summer 2017 collection which was full of roomy, textured and masculine pieces that had hints of sex from a 70s vibe while the accessories is sure to see cash registers ringing next year.

Simple details can pay dividends and that's what Canali achieved today in its FW16 collection. Geeky glasses, wider lapels, and mixing-and-matching fabrics create a dynamic collection that highlighted the label's penchant for classic Italian tailoring. The strongest pieces, though, were ones that experimented with fabrics and, in general, the sportswear. The fur/leather hybrid Perfectos were sublime while an oversized slicker was super chic.

For Spring/Summer 2016, the Canali man is a man on the go, whether it's to a meeting, clad in a smartly cut suit with his briefcase or off on an adventure wearing a safari jacket and clutching an oversized satchel. The latest collection offered everything from sportswear to business suits, as well as a finale of very luxe and formal tuxedos, sans tie, of course.

Texture was the buzz word at Canali, from horizontal striped suits to suede and woolly finishes, seen on a toggle coat; these were the making of Canali's sporty new collection.

Andrea Pompilio returns to the runway after his eponymous collection to present Canali's Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Pompilio's first collection for the venerable Italian label played up the designer's penchant for youthful clothes and pattern but the result was decidedly more somber and conservative. For example, take chunky horizontal stripes that were seen on silky pants or polka dots that made a cameo on a suit. Whether this collection is a brief introduction to a new direction for Canali is to be scene but judging from this alone, fans of the label might be shocked to see so many sport-y clothes on the shelves.

Plush and lush velvet was the fabric of choice at Canali's Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The venerable suiting label emphasized modern power suiting, with strong, wide shoulders and slender pants, creating a masculine and muscular silhouette. While the sportswear made for great weekend looks, the focus was on the rich texture of velvet, seen on pants, jackets, and suits.
