Minimal to its core, Acne Studios offered up small changes to its core collection with patterned leggings, fringed sleeves and criss-cross cutout bottoms. But the bulk of the collection followed the same aesthetic and logic of many Scandinavian brands of minimal, functional and quiet.

Animalia has been a strong presence this Fall/Winter 2019 and continued at Stockholm-based label Acne Studios, seen here in snakeskin. Cropped tops with fringe added a bohemian flair while oversized and voluminous layers played a major role in the collection, as did a strong sex appeal via looks featuring coats and jackets without a shirt. Colors also abounded with bright pops of orange, aqua, and more

Fashion's fascination with the occult, such as horoscopes and the latest du jour obsession: stones, manifested itself at Acne Studios's latest collection, evidenced by the stone structures the lined the runway with a strong boho-chic spirit ran throughout the pared back clothes. There were elongated proportions seen on knits while the number of seemingly off-season garments proliferated throughout from coats to heavy knits. Maybe these models were following their horoscopes too literally when they read of a strong storm coming their way.

Acne Studio's FW18 collection proffered plasticized pants, sans shirt if one desires, destroyed knits, with a backup knit underneath, and a play on proportion that saw elongated sleeves (which has been seen on nearly every collection this season) to boxy and cropped trousers.

The fashion press were the audience at Acne's reverse-presentations. Models in the label's romantic and light SS18 collection look upon the fashion press from their elevated seats in their perfectly pressed and loosely tailored clothes.

Acne is overhauling its company, first by changing its name to Acne Studios Bla Konst (say that five times fast), to a simplified and unisex denim offering, shown here in their SS17 denim campaign, shot by Collier Schorr.

Texture from fuzzy fabrics created a comfortably collection from Acne Studios for FW17. This same furry texture was seen on coats to pants and everything inbetween. There were also some loosely cut suits, rounded shouldered knits and plenty of athletic minded clothes.

A play on proportion was the story at Acne's SS16 collection, from dress-like knits worn over wide and tailored pants juxtaposed with silken shorts and a stark white polo. The gender play was strong here and hit on one of the biggest trends throughout all of fashion. Graphics were also seen throughout, from a jumpsuit worn with platforms to a fuzzy knit reminiscent of cowhide.

Acne's anglophilic Fall/Winter 2015 collection harkened London's tailoring heritage and melded with the designer's Scandanavian cheeky roots. English fabrics and punk influences were mixed with quirky graphics ad interesting detailing that resulted in an off-kilter, fun and youthful collection.

Acne's short but sweet presentation for SS15 was a mix of 50s references with most male model's preferred mode of transport: skateboard. Slightly oversized jackets and wide legged pants set the collection's tone while beanie hats and velcro strapped shoes gave the collection a sense of freshness and newness.

Volume never looked so chic as it did today at Acne Studio's Fall/Winter 2014 presentation. The sporty meets tailoring trend that's been seen on virtually every runway was in full force here, with graphic prints that resembled an internet meme to sumptuous double-faced coats.

In lieu of a runway collection during men's fashion week in Paris, the Swedish clothier opted to show a handful of mens look during their women's runway show. The result was a slightly different look at the FW13 presentation in Paris last month. The looks from Acne's Jonny Johannson were voluminous and sexy in their suggestive lines, like sleeveless jackets.
