RUNWAY: Balenciaga SS19

Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga took the audience for a ride for the Parisian label's SS19 show, offering an immersive digital experience that at times overshadowed the collection. After settling into Balenciaga and figuring out what his vision for the famed house is, Gvasalia seems to be refining that vision and that came in the form of a stronger focus on tailoring, still offering the oversized squared shoulders he is now famous for. There were also some great, albeit off season, coats while a series of printed shirts offered a lighter take, with prints of people in various yoga poses or one that harked on money and possessions.
