RUNWAY: CMMN SWDN SS19

Swedish-based label CMMN SWDN took on consumption and recycling for its SS19 collection. Scandinavian countries are leaders in recycling and being environmentally friendly and so this collection, with its mash up reissued garments with others in new and interesting forms felt more like a rebuke of the status quo and the general population's overconsumption of products without thoughtful consideration of the harm it's doing to the environment. All of which is a good idea but for fashion labels to propose such a thought seems difficult to take fully seriously as, here they are, trying to get as many people to buy their wears.
