RUNWAY: Y-3 SS19

Volume at a Yohji Yamamoto collection, whether for his eponymous collection or with Y-3, is not a new concept. That being said, there was something revelatory about this collection, maybe it was the fluid, almost parachute-like details on the clothes, creating drama but also the undoubted feeling of being free. As previously mentioned, that very idea - of feeling free and liberated - has been quite pervasive this season and Yamamoto's cuts melded with Adidas' technically advanced fabrics created a stronger than usual collection with equal parts design and utility.
