RUNWAY: Bobby Abley FW18

Bobby Abley, known for his fun and youthful collaborations with Disney, highlighted another childhood cartoon mainstay: Warner Brothers' Looney Tunes. There was a big puffy outfit resembling Tweety, Bugs Bunny - complete with bunny ears, and more. In addition the obvious kitsch of the collection was a slightly more serious side that took on one of the central contention points of the Brexit vote: immigration. Though brief - a knit with "Legal Alien" on it - it was a glimpse that Abley aims not just to be the go-to designer for millennial nostalgia but he has a voice and platform and will utilize it when he chooses.
