RUNWAY: Agi & Sam SS17

Gender roles were a focus at Agi & Sam's insightful and strong Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The checked patterns on 50s-style tailoring had great effect on the theme that was quite apropos since there is a conversation society needs to have about gender roles. In the age of it-items (bags, shoes, etc) fashion's ability to take a stance and provide a strong, coherent voice in a time of great change has diminished as labels become so corporatized, focusing on numbers and sales. This collection from the relatively new British label is proof positive that great clothes and a strong commentary on the state of society are not mutually exclusive.
